Dear Eagle View and Green Ridge families,

We are excited to share information with you about two major renovation projects that will soon be underway at Eagle View Middle School and Green Ridge Elementary School. These projects are driven by the continued growth in enrollment across our district, which necessitates the expansion of our school facilities.

Please read through this newsletter to learn more about the planned projects and to view artist renderings. However, please also keep in mind that all plans and project timelines are pending approval by our Board of School Directors as we move through the various phases of the project. As such, all information is subject to change.

The primary goal of these renovations is to increase the capacity of both Green Ridge Elementary School and Eagle View Middle School. By expanding our facilities, we aim to provide additional space to support our growing student population across the district while enhancing the overall learning environment within these buildings.

We want to be upfront and honest: Living through renovation projects isn’t always easy. As with all construction projects, there will be growing pains and there will be temporary inconveniences. 

We will do our best to minimize these disruptions when possible. However, please anticipate some traffic interruptions and scheduling implications that may impact daily routines, such as drop-off and pick-up locations and times. Additionally, there will be disruptions to play spaces, there will be added noise, and you may notice an increase in dirt and dust around the school grounds. Learning spaces may need to be repurposed or temporarily relocated. There will be heavy truck traffic and frequent construction equipment traversing the area. Contractors will be in and out of the buildings regularly; however, they are required to obtain the necessary clearances (FBI, criminal background, and child abuse) to be in our schools.

Despite these challenges, we want to assure you that the end result will be worth it. Once the renovations are complete, both schools will boast larger and even more beautiful facilities with additional functional space to better serve our students and staff.

We know you have many questions, but we simply don’t have all the answers yet. We'll be sure to communicate with you throughout this process to keep you informed of significant updates or changes.

Renovations at Eagle View Middle School are tentatively scheduled to start in the summer of 2024 and be completed in or around January 2027. The proposed project includes a/an:

• two-story classroom addition.

• expanded cafeteria and kitchen.

• additional gymnasium and expanded auxiliary gymnasium spaces.

• cultural arts labs.

• expanded library.

• refreshed auditorium.

• relocation of the administrative offices.

• expanded parking area for staff and visitors.

• new student drop-off and pickup loop and a dedicated bus loop.

• renovations throughout the entire school for a refreshed and modern look.

Once completed, Eagle View Middle School will be home to approximately 500 additional student seats, bringing building capacity in line with Mountain View Middle School.
