This week at Shaull Elementary, students had the opportunity to explore the wonders of space without ever leaving the building. The school's stage was transformed into a full-dome planetarium, immersing students in a guided journey through stars, constellations, and galaxies.
Students experienced the planetarium alongside their buddy classes, fostering meaningful cross-grade connections and a shared sense of wonder. The experience also invited reflection on how, like stars in a galaxy, each student plays a unique and valuable role in a larger community—echoing the spirit of their year-long theme, “A Galaxy Together,” and the seven competencies of our Portrait of an Eagle.
Each student wrote down a personal goal, hope, or dream for the school year, something that would help them shine and contribute to the broader school community. These messages will be displayed in Shaull's lobby, serving as a visual reminder that when students support one another and grow together, their collective impact is truly remarkable.
We are excited to welcome you to another season of Varsity Football at Chapman Field! As the season approaches, we want to inform you of important updates to our student attendance policies for home varsity football games. These expectations aim to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Please note that parents should also review the policies of host teams for away games, as many districts have similar rules.
Students in Grades K-8:
Must be accompanied by a paying adult (age 18+) to be admitted.
May enter through any gate.
Unaccompanied K-8 students will not be permitted entry, and parents/guardians will be contacted for pickup.
Students in Grades 9-12:
May attend without a paying adult.
Must enter through the designated student gate on the home side of the stadium.
Must present a student ID card or a copy of their Skyward profile on a mobile device.
Student Drop-Off:
To ensure safety and ease traffic, please use the District Office parking lot near the Softball Field for drop-offs.
Students are not allowed to bring backpacks or sporting equipment into the stadium.
Online Ticketing:
Ticketing for paid athletic events will again be handled online this year. Cumberland Valley Athletics has partnered with HomeTown Ticketing to provide digital ticketing for all home games. This is the same platform used for district and state playoff events, offering a familiar and convenient process for families and fans.
For more details about online ticketing, including procedures and costs, please click here.
We appreciate your continued cooperation in meeting these expectations, which help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees. Thank you for your ongoing support of the Cumberland Valley School District and our athletic programs. We look forward to seeing you at the games. GO EAGLES!
We’re excited to announce our 2026 travel destinations, inspired by the enthusiasm for our global educational travel program last fall! Students in grades 8-11 are invited to join us for educational trips to Germany, Portugal-Azores, Switzerland, or Thailand. Meanwhile, middle school students can participate in experiences in London, Paris, or Panama in 2026.
Traveling helps students expand their understanding of the world, discover more about themselves, and build confidence—essential skills for becoming the global citizens of tomorrow. We would love for your student to join us on one of these adventures!

Like many other schools locally and nationally, we are experiencing a significant shortage of school bus and van drivers at Cumberland Valley School District. This shortage has affected, and will continue to affect, the transportation services we provide to our students. Our contractors are actively working to hire new drivers, and we are committed to ensuring that all students receive a ride to and from school. However, please be aware that this may require last-minute modifications to routes and stop times, which we will communicate to parents as quickly as possible.
Notifications of delays will be sent via text and email to the contact information listed in Skyward. To ensure you receive these notifications, please verify that your phone numbers and email addresses are up to date in Skyward.
When we have information about delays exceeding 20 minutes, we will notify you as soon as possible. Please understand that our Transportation Office experiences a high volume of calls during this time and may not be able to respond to all inquiries immediately.
In order to keep the phone lines open for emergencies, please email the Transportation Office with stop concerns, as well as to confirm bus information at transportation@cvschools.org.
If you know anyone interested in becoming a school bus or van driver for Cumberland Valley School District, please encourage them to reach out to one of our Transportation Contractors. There are great part-time opportunities available!

Device Insurance
The District will continue to supply technology devices (iPads and Chromebooks) for each student, as we believe digital access is essential to our students' learning and development. We own and value each device and require students to follow our usage guidelines and take care and caution while handling the device. The device has a manufacturer's warranty that covers defects and malfunctions, but families will be responsible for the full cost of any loss or damage unless you purchase device insurance through the district.
Please review the full details of our 1:1 program, which includes directions on how to pay for device insurance. We encourage every student to participate in our device insurance program.
