Step-Up Day is a special event where all students (including our kindergarteners) visit the next grade level to meet their future teachers, explore new classrooms, and get a glimpse of what the upcoming school year will be like. It helps ease transitions, build excitement, and give students a chance to ask questions and feel more confident about coming to a new school.

Students will report to Green Ridge Elementary instead of Shaull for the day. Students will report back to Shaull for their last day of school on Tuesday, June 3rd. All routines and procedures will remain mostly the same—just at Green Ridge instead of Shaull. Specific details about each process are provided below.

Our Green Ridge staff is aware and understands that our kindergarten students will be going to an unfamiliar school with mostly unfamiliar staff. First, we will have some of the kindergarten teachers at Green Ridge. Also, our principals and interventionists have visited our kindergarteners many times throughout the year, so our students will be welcomed by some familiar faces. We will have many staff members on standby to help make your student feel at home.

Students should bring what they typical would for school (i.e. water bottle, snack, red folder, etc.)

Students may take their typical transportation to and from school. The only difference is they will report to Green Ridge and not Shaull.

• Car Riders: Students may be dropped off and picked up as per typical but at Green Ridge. Please see the arrival and dismissal process below.

• Bus Students: Students may still ride the bus as typical. They will be brought directly to and from Green Ridge.

• The Transportation department is aware of all changes.

• Car Riders: Students may be dropped off as per typical but at Green Ridge. Please follow the map below to see where to drop off your student. Our Green Ridge staff will assist your student in getting into the school.

• Bus Students: Students may still ride the bus as typical. They will be brought directly from your assigned bus stop to Green Ridge. Our Green Ridge staff will assist your student in getting into the school.

• Car Riders: Students may be picked up as per typical but at Green Ridge. Please follow the map below to see where to pick up your student. For the day, we will be using Shaull's QR code system. Please bring your QR code and our staff will bring your student out to your car.

• Bus Students: Students may still ride the bus as typical. They will be brought directly from Green Ridge to your assigned bus stop.

Extended Day students will spend the entire school day at Green Ridge. We will have additional rotations with them in the afternoon.

• Arrival and Dismissal: Please see the arrival and dismissal process above.

• Lunch: As typical, your student will eat lunch at Green Ridge. The lunch choice will be pizza. We will get your student's choice in the morning.

• When students arrive, they will be asked if they need to eat breakfast and will be brought to the cafeteria.

• Your student will get to visit each 1st grade teacher's classroom.

• Students will report back to Shaull for the last day of school on Tuesday, June 3rd.
