Good afternoon, Eagle View and Green Ridge families.
We are excited to share that our Board of School Directors officially approved bids for two major renovation projects that will soon be underway at Eagle View Middle School and Green Ridge Elementary School. As shared in April, these projects are driven by the continued growth in enrollment across our district, which necessitates the expansion of our school facilities.
While the district is currently working through the required permitting process, the Board’s approval of bids sets the stage for construction to begin later this summer.
What does this mean for students, staff, and families upon returning to school in August? Specific construction dates and phasing schedules are determined by our contractors. However, you can expect to see construction vehicles on site and a lot of dirt being turned when staff and students return on the first day of school.
We also anticipate that there will likely be traffic and parking implications and other inconveniences for the start of the 2024-25 school year, but we do not yet have those details. Please watch for further communication throughout the summer.
As we previously shared, we want to be upfront and honest: Living through renovation projects isn’t always easy. As with all construction projects, there will be growing pains and there will be temporary inconveniences. We will do our best to minimize these disruptions when possible, and we’ll make sure to communicate with you throughout this project.
Despite these challenges, we want to assure you that the end result will be worth it. Once the renovations are complete, both schools will boast larger and even more beautiful facilities with additional functional space to better serve our students and staff. Green Ridge is expected to be completed for the start of the 2026-27 school year, while Eagle View is anticipated to be finished in January 2027.
