Principal's Message

Greetings Shaull Families,

Between Fire Prevention Day and the Fun Run, it was an action packed week at Shaull! Thank you to our local firefighters at Hampden Township and New Kingstown for spending the entire school day working with each grade through our educational and fun stations! We would also like to thank all the families who donated towards the PTO Fun Run goal of $22,000. It was a lofty goal, and we did quite well, but fell a little short. As of the time of this writing, we are just under 19,000! Your generous donations will be used to fund our PTO for the entre school year. This enables us to bypass many of the ongoing and smaller type fundraisers that most school PTOs utilize to generate funds. Your donations fund many things for students and staff including classroom grants, assemblies, the Fall and Winter socials, dances, the Fun Run shirts, May Fair, an annual Shaull PTO scholarship for a deserving CVHS senior, and much more!

In this edition of Shark Bites, we are asking any parents who attended the Fun Run to share some photos (information below), we are seeking Junior Achievement Volunteers for a handful of classrooms, we have information related to our Costume Dance, Veterans Day Assembly and Essay Contest, and an update on Health Screenings and our Spring Girls on the Run team.

As a reminder, we do not have school on Monday. Enjoy the long weekend with your family!

Respectfully,

Mr. T.

Veterans Day Essay Opportunity (grades 3-5)

3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Families,

As we approach Veterans Day, we are providing students the opportunity to write an essay about this special day. This is not a requirement and would be a project that they would work on at home. Students who enter their essays into our contest may be selected to read it at our assembly on Monday, November 11th.

Your student can choose from any of the prompts listed below and write a brief essay answering it. Students should then submit their essays to Mrs. Schade through Seesaw or bring a printed copy to the office for Mr. T. A committee of staff will select up to 3 students to read their essays at our assembly.

Essay Prompts:

  • What Veterans Day means to me

  • A Veteran I Love

  • Why are Veterans important?

  • What makes someone a Veteran?
