Greetings Shaull Families,
The last weeks of August and the first weeks of September have been an exciting month of positivity as our students now have several weeks under their belts in their new grades and classrooms! Students are forming new friendships and strengthening old ones, while creating meaningful connections to their teachers, peers, and school staff. Our sharks are also deepening their studies of the arts and sciences, language arts, and mathematics through our excellent curriculum and instruction. The start of each new year at Cumberland Valley includes the instruction of what we call "Unit Zero" where students become familiar with how to be responsible learners in all areas of our school building. This very important unit of study is related to our Portrait of an Eagle work and kickstarts the study of each of the seven competencies of the Portrait. In the next edition of Shark Bites, you will meet each classroom's Portrait of an Eagle award recipient for the competency of responsibility!
We are in the midst of our largest and most important PTO fundraiser of the school year - the Shaull Fun Run! With family donations and corporate sponsorship support, the Fun Run not only is a fun event for our Sharks, but the proceeds fund the PTO's school activities for the entire school year! Please consider making a donation at the following link: Fun Run Donations and Shirt Size submissions. All students will receive a free Shaull Fun Run shirt regardless of donation! Please be sure to visit the link to make a donation and/or pick your child's shirt size! Thank you for your continued support of our Parent Teacher Organization!
Respectfully,
Mr. T.
