Principal's Message

Greetings Shaull Families,

Parent/Teacher Conferences are coming up next week on November 15, 2024. Information for parents related to our conferences can be found on pages 10-11 of the CVSD Elementary Student Handbook.

Our Spring 2025 Girls on the Run (GOTR) team has been approved! We are now able to recruit coaches for our team. GOTR begins in early March 2025 and runs through May 10, with a culminating 5K in a centralized location around Harrisburg for all area GOTR teams to participate in.

Students in GOTR not only learn healthy habits through running, they learn growth mindset strategies for overcoming obstacles, managing emotions, and achieving goals.

For more information about how to sign up to coach for the Shaull GOTR team, please see the link below and scan the embedded QR code for sign up information.

*Please note that GOTR is open to Shaull Girls in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades only.

On Veterans Day this coming Monday, we will have a student assembly during the day to honor our Veterans who have served in the armed forces. Part of the assembly involved an essay writing contest for 3rd through 5th grade students. After carefully reading each of the essays turned in, five students have been selected to present their essay at the upcoming Veterans Day Assembly. While every student who took the time to think about and write an essay is celebrated, these students' essays rose to the top:

Everett Golding (Grade 5)

Ava Bowman (Grade 4)

Tressa Woodward (Grade 3)

Diya Patel (Grade 3)

Alice Poffenberger (Grade 3)

We also appreciate all the families who submitted photos of Veterans in their family so that we can take time to honor each one during our assembly. Thank you to Mr. Willey for taking each photo and arranging them into a presentation for the assembly. Lastly, our Music teacher, Mrs. Schade, has been working with all grades on a musical component of the assembly. We look forward to this time of reflection and appreciation with our student body and local veterans.

Enjoy the weekend!

Respectfully,

Mr. T.

Soda Can Pop Top Collection

We are collecting pop tabs to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities. This organization helps families of children who are receiving essential, lifesaving medical care. Many of you know of at least one person who has benefited from this charity in our community. In order to support this charity, we need your help. Please consider collecting the tab off of cans you use. These tabs could be from soup cans, soda, energy drinks, pet food, etc. Size of the tab does not matter. Our goal this year is to collect at least 90lbs of tabs! Tabs can be dropped off at the CVHS 10-12 building (room 282), Mountain View Middle School (Main Office), Shaull Elementary (Main Office), or any other school that has a collection going.  If any questions arise, please contact Millie Eckerd (eeckerd@cvschools.org).
