Principal's Message

Shaull Families,

We are celebrating our Portrait of an Eagle Award Recipients for the competency of Confidence! Please see the section below celebrating students from all grades and discover why they were nominated for a Confidence award! Way to go, Sharks!

As a reminder, November 13th is the end of Trimester 1 for all CV elementary schools. Parent/Teacher conferences are on November 14th (there is no school for students on 11/14). If you have not done so already, be sure to sign up for a parent/teacher conference with your child's teacher. Report cards will be issued on Skyward on November 25th.

Wednesday, November 26, is a half day for students, with dismissal at 11:55 AM. There is no kindergarten on 11/26. Additionally, school will be closed for Thanksgiving break on Thursday, November 27 through Monday, December 1. Please note the following week, there is a half day for students on Thursday, December 4 (no kindergarten) and school is closed the following day, Friday, December 5 as Cumberland Valley is the statewide host site for the PIAA High School Football State Championships.

Lastly, as the weather turns cooler, make sure to send your Shaull Shark to school with a jacket/coat, hat, gloves, and a scarf for those cold winter days. We will continue to have outdoor recess as weather permits throughout the fall and winter seasons.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Respectfully,

Mr. T.

Portrait of an Eagle - Confidence Award Recipients!

Madi shows confidence in our classroom everyday! She is willing to try new things. She works on hard tasks before asking for help. She raises her hand in class to give answers and shares her ideas and opinions with her peers. She also can admit her mistakes, showing confidence in knowing you learn from your mistakes.

Elizabeth is always ready to learn! She participates and works hard everyday. Elizabeth always has a positive attitude in school.

Taylor is a confident second grader!  He is attentive, participates, and works hard everyday in school. The academic progress he is making is a reflection of his positive attitude and eagerness to learn. He is also polite and kind to his teachers and friends. Your efforts are really paying off Taylor!

Elias shows his confidence throughout each day here at Shaull.  He is a “Courageous Explorer” of new topics and never hesitates to express his thoughts in a kind and diplomatic way.  He is strong, empathetic at school and in his extracurricular activities. Way to go, Elias!

Hunter is a very confident student! He is always happy to help his friends and is very caring. He completes all of his assignments and shares creative ideas.

Kyra shows confidence through all she does here at Shaull. She is helpful to her teacher and friends through academics and other daily activities. Her outstanding participation in the classroom shows all of her confidence! Nice work Kyra!

Lauren shows confidence in all areas here at Shaull!  She demonstrates leadership through her words, actions, and participation in class.  Awesome job, Lauren!

Marcella is a confident Kindergartener!  She has grown so much this year and that is reflected in her confidence in class work and helping her peers!

Julia is a confident, kind, and trustworthy 3rd grader. Since the beginning of the year I have really seen her come out of her shell and shine! She is a leader in the class, constantly demonstrating respect, and always following the rules. She listens and confidently participates in all portions of the day. She does not shy away from challenges and is confident in her skills! I am so proud of you Julia!!

Arianna is a very confident 4th grader! Arianna is always participating in class and is always the first one to step up when others are in need of help, whether it is outside at recess, in the lunch room or during class. She is a great role model for others when they are searching for how to be confident!

Lucy is such a confident and enthusiastic student! She always gives her best effort and isn’t afraid to make mistakes along the way. She participates so thoughtfully in class and loves sharing her ideas. I’m so proud of her confidence and love watching her grow as a learner!

Emma demonstrates confidence daily in her excitement to participate and learn new things. She has strong leadership skills and encourages and helps her classmates when needed. I love her positive attitude and energy! Keep up the great work, Emma!

Will shared with the class how he mastered his multiplication facts. In second grade, he decided to learn fact table multiples by listening to the NumberRock videos on EPIC. As a result, Will began third grade with a firm knowledge of multiplication facts. This has increased his confidence in math by affording him the ability to solve problems quickly and accurately.

Mollie has steady, quiet confidence in herself to problem-solve and figure things out before asking for help. When she doesn’t know something,  instead of immediately asking for help, she thinks through the situation or problem. She often finds her own solutions and helps her neighbors. She never draws attention to herself for doing so, it’s just something she naturally does and should be recognized for.

Sisi demonstrated confidence in her academic work, her social interactions, and in each choice she makes. She is always willing to ask for help when needed, and offers a helping hand to anyone around her in need of one. Her confidence is evident each and every day.

Jacob demonstrates confidence daily through his answers to questions, how he participates in discussions, and through his social interactions. He is confident as a leader and kindly supports others both in the classroom and on the playground.

Great job Jacob!

Anvi is a prime example of displaying confidence. She is confident in her academics, her answers in class, and with her friends. She loves to participate and answer questions, even if she isn’t completely sure of the answer, she is confident and tries her best. She also loves to share the reasoning behind the answer and explain it to her friends. Great job Anvi!

Avery does a great job demonstrating her confidence in class each day. She consistently volunteers to share her ideas and answers, even when it means taking a risk. Avery also shows confidence by asking thoughtful questions to deepen her understanding. Most recently, she stepped into the role of Morning Meeting Leader, guiding her classmates through greetings and shares. This is an impressive example of her ability to lead and speak in front of her peers with poise and confidence.

Noah exhibits confidence in so many ways! He is an active participant in our classroom, is always offering a helpful hand, and demonstrates humble confidence with his academic abilities. He is a role model for our classroom, and I look forward to seeing how he continues to grow this year!

Julia's confidence is evident in her willingness to take risks in the classroom. She actively seeks out responsibilities and demonstrates leadership when working in groups. Julia consistently volunteers to read aloud, tackle challenging questions, and explain her mathematical thinking. Her ability to learn and grow from mistakes, rather than becoming discouraged, is a valuable skill that serves her well every day. Keep up the hard work and positivity, Julia!

David is a confident student who expresses his thoughts clearly and listens respectfully to others. He shares his viewpoints and works collaboratively toward mutual understanding. This is especially evident in math class, where he often solves problems in one way while his group approaches them differently. David excels at making connections between methods and takes the lead in explaining how and why each approach is valid.

Diya is a very confident student, who takes pride in everything she does. She participates in every subject and loves to learn! Her confidence is shown throughout her school work. Diya shows confidence in and outside of the classroom. We are so lucky to have Diya in room 213!

Vraj shows confidence in second grade! He participates each day, takes a chance on answering questions that may have an unknown, and works hard. He has a positive attitude towards learning and is ready to tackle each day. Great job Vraj!

Maddock believes in himself and is always ready to try to do his best. He is proud of his growing knowledge, especially in reading. He supports his friends by being kind and encouraging.  Maddock often raises his hand to answer questions and participates in class discussions.  Great job, Maddock!

Jayden is a confident kindergartener!  He believes in his own abilities and is willing to share his ideas with the class.  Jayden tries to help others when they are not sure of directions, and he is kind when doing so.  Nice work, Jayden!

Evelyn is becoming more confident in her learning! It is wonderful to see how she is willing to take risks when solving her math problems and how excited she is when it is time to apply what she is learning in reading. Keep up the great work and keep challenging yourself!
