Last week report cards were published on Skyward for the first time as we are no longer using Mastery Connect. To access your child's report card on Skyward, follow these steps:

- Login to your Skyward Parent Portal

- Click the "portfolio" icon (it looks like a file folder)

- Click the "eye" icon to access the report card for Trimester 1

We are looking forward to another exciting month of school as we gear up for the Winter Break! Check the graphic below for our December Spirit Days and have your Shaull Shark join in the fun!

In the next edition of Shark Bites, we will celebrate our Portrait of an Eagle: Communication Award Recipients! We look forward to sharing their nominations with you in the December 19th edition.

The 4th and 5th Grade Winter Chorus Concert will be held at Mountain View Middle School on Thursday, January 15th at 7:00 PM. Please see the graphic below and save the dates for our musical performances.

As we are now in the cold winter months, please be sure to send your Shark to school with a winter coat, hat, gloves, and a scarf so they are prepared for bus stops each day and recess. If help obtaining winter gear is needed, please reach out to me, or our school counselor, Mr. Barrick. 

Please see section below from Nurse Bowen regarding when to keep your child home from school due to illness. It is that time of the year when illness can spread. Our efforts to instill handwashing and covering coughs can help prevent the spread of germs and illness. If you do keep your child home from school due to illness, parent/doctor notes can be uploaded to your skyward portal or emailed directly to our attendance secretary, Mrs. Moesta, at shattendance@cvschools.org.

With the onset of cold and flu season, we respectfully request that families remain vigilant in monitoring students for any signs of illness. To maintain a healthy school environment, please keep children home when they are unwell and allow adequate time for recovery.  Your help ensures a safer, healthier community for all of our students and staff.  Please contact Nurse Bowen if you have further questions or concerns.

We are kicking off a new endeavor at Shaull called Galaxy Games! Our goal is to build unity, belonging, and camaraderie amongst students and staff! See the short video below to get a glimpse of what Galaxy Games will be all about!

Our PTO works diligently to plan and host wonderful experiences for our students and families.

In order for our PTO to be successful for current and future generations of Shaull students and teachers, we need participation by our parents. Please reach out to me or the PTO at shpto@cvschools.org, or rtysarczyk@cvschools.org for information on how to attend a Zoom PTO meeting or how to get involved in our events. Our PTO meetings are the second Wednesday of each month and generally are 30-45 minutes in length.

Fly Like an Eagle!

Cumberland Valley School District's Portrait of an Eagle is our vision for all students upon graduation. Through the immersive Kindergarten through twelfth grade experience here at CVSD, our students will be able to demonstrate these seven competencies for success in adult life.

We will reward students each month with the CVSD Portrait of an Eagle Award Certificate. Be on the look out should your student come home with an award!

Additionally, students will be awarded the "High Fly"er" tickets on an ongoing basis to be entered in for regular prize drawings. Students may earn lunch with the principal, a game in the lobby "Sharkade," or prizes from the Principal Prize Bin.
