Greetings Shaull Families,
With winter just about here, once again we are asking each family to send their student to school with a winter coat, a hat, gloves, and a scarf. We will continue to have outdoor recess throughout the winter months and we have students who are not fully prepared for the weather. If any family is in need of assistance obtaining winter clothing, please contact our school counselor, Mr. Barrick.
It's not too early to think about our Winter Chorus Concert led by our Music Teacher, Mrs. Schade, on Thursday, January 16th at 7:00 PM at Mountain View Middle School! Please save the date and come out to see our 4th and 5th grade students shine!
On Thursday, we gathered all students in grades 1-5 for our Portrait of an Eagle assembly where we focused on our latest competency of Adaptability. We discussed what it means to be adaptable at school as students and how kids and adults need to be adaptable in the world outside of school. Part of our discussion was about how we learn from our mistakes and even the greatest athletes, scientists, and inventors have failed before they succeeded. Many students had an opportunity to share with partners and share out to the student body their examples of how they have been adaptable in their lives. It was a great way to end our half day of school learning about our final new POE competency - Adaptability.
Over the next two weeks there will be much excitement across our elementary school for the December holidays. Below are two weeks of spirit days to help channel this excitement! We will have two full weeks of school from Monday, December 9th through Friday, December 20th. On December 20th, we will celebrate with a sing along assembly and our Winter Socials (class parties). Students and staff will be off for Winter Break from 12/21 through Wednesday, January 1st. We return to school following the Winter Break on Thursday, January 2nd.
Thank you for reading this edition of Shark Bites. Enjoy the long weekend!
Respectfully,
Mr. T.
