Principal's Message

Greetings Shaull Families,

We appreciate everyone's flexibility during our recent weather related school delays. When the district makes an announcement regarding a closing or delay, this information will be shared again in a school-wide Seesaw message to all Shaull Families who are using Seesaw and on our Shaull Facebook page. Some of our families mentioned not receiving the district message via text. Please call our school office if you have experienced any issues with the district messaging and please be sure to check your seesaw accounts for important information throughout the school year.

Girls on the Run Registration opened on Wednesday for girls in grades 3, 4, and 5. Please see the GOTR section below if interested in signing your daughter up for our Spring team!

In this edition of Shark Bites, we are honoring our Portrait of an Eagle award winners who were nominated in their classrooms. Please see the section below to meet our "Adaptability" competency award winners!

The amazing Shaull PTO has shared several updates. Below, there is new information regarding our Skate night at Olympic, Our Soup-er Bowl Food Drive which was a huge success last year, and discounted 2025 Hersheypark Tickets.

Thank you for reading this edition of Shark Bites. Have a wonderful weekend!

Mr. T.

December/January Portrait of an Eagle Award Recipients - Adaptability

These Shaull Students have been nominated by their classroom teacher for consistently displaying the Portrait of an Eagle Competency of Adaptability! Congratulations to these Sharks!

1

Since Muhammed has joined us this school year, he has shown adaptability by being open to new learning methods, friends, and managing his time. He always adapts to learning new skills in Bridges and CKLA. I am so proud of Muhammed for his ability to adapt to a new school and environment! We are so glad he is here with us at Shaull!

1

Each day at school, Jayzhel demonstrates adaptability with her schedule as she navigates learning across multiple settings, and always has a positive attitude.  Way to go, Jayzhel.  We’re so glad you’re here!

1

Violetta demonstrates adaptability every day in class, as she navigates a new school, classmates, and language! She does a fantastic job advocating for herself if she needs help, and works cooperatively with her peers. I am so proud of her every day!

1

Leland demonstrates adaptability on a daily basis in our classroom. She does a great job learning new skills and not giving up on herself. She is a great advocate for herself and her classmates. I am very proud of her and how she adapts every day!

1

Adya is the perfect example of an adaptable student! She is a leader that can work with anyone. She can adapt very well to new skills. I am so proud of Adya and everything that she has accomplished this year!

1

Kulsoom is such a hard worker! She is always demonstrating adaptability throughout the day in different settings.

1

Gwen is able to adapt quickly to changes in our daily routine.  She works well in small groups and with a partner.  She is able to stay on task and ignore distractions.  Gwen politely asks for help whenever she needs it, thinks for herself, and gets along well with everyone.

1

Coulson does a great job of working with anyone and gets along with everyone. He has a positive attitude, listens to others, and works hard.

1

David does a great job demonstrating adaptability in the classroom. He is flexible and loves to go with the flow. He recently has shown such growth in learning new things and applying them in all areas in the classroom.

1

The class has voted Vivaan as the most adaptable because he rarely complains about work, seat changes, or schedule changes. He goes with the flow and encourages those around him to stay positive. He also remains calm and has not raised his voice- he’s usually quite “chill.” Even when losing soccer, he accepts the loss and looks forward to the next game.

1

Aleeza shows adaptability.  She easily accepts changes of plans whether that be changes in partners/groups, directions given, or schedule changes. She just laughs when I interrupt the class mid-task to adjust things as needed and easily moves forward.

1

Arianna does a great job of getting along with everyone, going with the flow, and adjusting to changes. She is often seen changing things to meet the needs of others through adjusting her partners/groups or picking a different material to avoid conflict. Additionally, she is always willing to help others!

1

Sterling is a great role model of being adaptable. She adjusts to changes in our day and keeps a positive attitude. She is flexible and works hard throughout her day. Sterling works well with any of her peers and always interacts in a kind and positive way with them. Keep up the great work Sterling!

1

The class voted and selected Kailey as a classmate that has demonstrated adaptability.  She has experienced personal changes (like getting braces) and is flexible. According to the class, "she always goes with the flow and doesn’t care about other things that are happening. She just goes along." Kailey is an excellent example of a student who is adaptable during a variety of situations. Way to go, Kailey!

1

Zoya does a great job showing adaptability. She started the year as a great role model and friend to everyone helping when it was needed. She then had to leave for a few weeks but when she came back she jumped right back in and adjusted to new procedures and continued to be a helper around the room.

1

Lucy is a great role model to her peers when it comes to adaptability. She is always ready and willing to do her best, no matter the circumstances. When our schedule or routines change, she is ready to listen, follow directions, and continue to meet expectations!

1

Naticha does a great job demonstrating adaptability. This past month she had to ride the bus home for the first time, buy lunch for the first time and adjust to a different routine outside of school.  She handled each change positively and continued to do her best in school. I am proud of her positivity and her ability to be flexible!

1

Taylor has done a great job of demonstrating adaptability this school year. He has a positive approach to learning and working with his peers. Taylor has even said on many occasions, “It’s okay, we can do this!” I love his positive outlook, flexibility, and willingness to try his best in all areas of his school day. Great job, Taylor!

Common Sense Media's January Family Activity

Our Explorations curriculum has a large focus on digital citizenship throughout the school year and within each subsequent grade level. Our hope is that as technology becomes more accessible by our youngest learners, we are preparing them for how to appropriately communicate with others when using computers, websites, web enabled games, and phone communications including texting.

Soda Can Pop Top Collection

We are collecting pop tabs to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities. This organization helps families of children who are receiving essential, lifesaving medical care. Many of you know of at least one person who has benefited from this charity in our community. In order to support this charity, we need your help. Please consider collecting the tab off of cans you use. These tabs could be from soup cans, soda, energy drinks, pet food, etc. Size of the tab does not matter. Our goal this year is to collect at least 90lbs of tabs! Tabs can be dropped off at the CVHS 10-12 building (room 282), Mountain View Middle School (Main Office), Shaull Elementary (Main Office), or any other school that has a collection going.  If any questions arise, please contact Millie Eckerd (eeckerd@cvschools.org).

Eagle Spotlight - Shaull Staff Shout Out Form

Check out these wonderful commendations for our Librarian, Mrs. Jones, and First Grade Teacher, Mrs. McInroy:

Mrs. Jones - you have inspired my first grade son to read and create at home. He loves visiting the Shaull School Library! Recently, he checked out a book all about Bacteria. He has been teaching us at home about how food spoils and the many different bacteria and virus on Earth. He has been creating his own drawings and hanging them up in our house. Thank you for helping him find books which fit his interest and allowing him to read anything his heart desires. He needs more challenging books and you are meeting this need too. We love you and the library!

Mrs. McInroy - It has been such a joy to see our child's growth in reading this year. Thank you for all you do!
