Greetings Shaull Families, Next Wednesday is Spring Picture Day! If your child is participating, you have already received the paper copy of the order forms. We have extra forms in our office. If you would like one, please contact our amazing secretaries Mrs. Shoemaker or Mrs. Moesta, here at the school.
We are very excited for next Friday's School Dance, "Welcome to the Jungle!" The animal coloring sheets went home this week and students may return them up to the day of the dance for us to hang around the lobby at the dance event! See the flyer below to order tickets, sign up to volunteer, or sign up to donate refreshment items. We appreciate your support of our school events and our PTO.
Over the next two weeks, we have special theme days for students. To celebrate Music in Our Schools Week, Mrs. Schade created daily themes around the celebration of music! See the flyer below for details related to each day next week! Additionally, Mr. Barrick and our four Autism Support Classroom teachers, Mrs. Quillen, Mrs. Corchado, Miss Tuman, and Mrs. Skarupsky, created a sprit week around Autism Awareness! This takes place the week of April 7th! See the flyer below for each of the Autism Awareness Week theme days!

Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) |
Our students in grades 3-5 have been taking small bites of the online practice Pennsylvania System of School Assessments (PSSA) through the Pennsylvania Department of Education in order to prepare for the first PSSAs that are fully administered online rather than paper and pencil. We are working to prepare students for the look and feel of taking the assessments on their school devices as it is a much different experience than the test in the paper booklets. Our official PSSA test dates are:
English/Language Arts: 4/21, 4/22, 4/23 Math: 4/27, 4/28 Science (gr 5 only): 4/29, 4/30
Please note that Educational Trip Requests for students in tested grades will not be approved on these state testing days. Each student's participation in the assessments counts towards our "participation rate" which is compared to schools locally, regionally, and statewide. |
3/25 Spring Picture Day with Colleen & Company |
It is that time again...Spring Pictures! This school year has flown by! We will be returning to our previous format for Spring pictures from years past, similar to the fall picture packages of pre ordering. Only students that have pre ordered online or have picture packets the day of photos will have their picture taken. There will be NO pre registration or $15 deposit this year. Online ordering will be turned off at midnight before picture day. Parents are more that welcome to call the studio the morning of pictures to order if they missed out on the pre order from the night before.

Our PTO works diligently to plan and host wonderful experiences for our students and families.
In order for our PTO to be successful for current and future generations of Shaull students and teachers, we need participation by our parents. Please reach out to me or the PTO at shpto@cvschools.org, or rtysarczyk@cvschools.org for information on how to attend a Zoom PTO meeting or how to get involved in our events. Our PTO meetings are the second Wednesday of each month and generally are 30-45 minutes in length.

Fly Like an Eagle! Cumberland Valley School District's Portrait of an Eagle is our vision for all students upon graduation. Through the immersive Kindergarten through twelfth grade experience here at CVSD, our students will be able to demonstrate these seven competencies for success in adult life.
We will reward students each month with the CVSD Portrait of an Eagle Award Certificate. Be on the look out should your student come home with an award! Additionally, students will be awarded the "High Fly"er" tickets on an ongoing basis to be entered in for regular prize drawings. Students may earn lunch with the principal, a game in the lobby "Sharkade," or prizes from the Principal Prize Bin. |
