Principal's Message

Greetings Shaull Families,

Tonight is the Science Fair! Please come out to see all of the science projects our Shaull Sharks have been working on! The Science Fair begins at 6:00 PM in the Gym and will end at 7:00 PM. The format is a "gallery walk" style event. At the end of the science fair, award ribbons will be given out to the top scoring projects. We look forward to seeing you at the Science Fair!

Next Friday is the last day at Shaull for our wonderful secretary, Mrs. Nigro. Mrs. Nigro has served our students, staff, and families so well over the past seven years. She will be very missed in our office and school. While this news is bittersweet for all of us at Shaull, we are happy to report that Mrs. Nigro will be moving on to the CV District Office in a new role as the secretary to both the Technology Director and Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. We wish Mrs. Nigro well in her new role at the District Office!

We are accepting applications for a new Principal's Secretary. This is a ten month position during the school year with one day each week in the summer. The starting pay can be found in Appendix A of the AFSCME contract located on the district website, in the human resources sub page. If you have questions about the Principal's Secretary position, please do not hesitate to reach out to me here at Shaull!

This week we are excited to reveal our 2025 Shaull Building Star who will be honored at the Eagle Foundation Dinner on Friday, April 11th at the West Shore Country Club. Congratulations to......Mrs. Schade! Mrs. Schade, our amazing Music Teacher, is our 2025 Shaull Building Star! Not only does Mrs. Schade excel with music and instrumental instruction, she is a true "maestro" in the field. Each year her outstanding work with students from kindergarten through fifth grade, instrumentals, 4th and 5th grade chorus, and willingness to help students and staff alike, makes Mrs. Schade a very deserving recipient of this wonderful honor!

Have a great weekend!

Mr. T.

Ramadan Begins on February 28

One of the things that makes attending Cumberland Valley such a great experience for our students is the rich diversity we have throughout our school district. During the next several weeks, we know that many of our students and their families will be observing Ramadan. Ramadan begins at sundown on February 28, 2025 and ends at sundown on March 29, 2025. During Ramadan, students who are observing traditional practices may be fasting during the school day. If your child will be observing Ramadan and you would like information about accommodations that can be provided to help support them during this time, you are encouraged to reach out to me here at Shaull.

Common Sense Media's February Family Activity - Digital Footprint & Identity

Our Explorations curriculum has a large focus on digital citizenship throughout the school year and within each subsequent grade level. Our hope is that as technology becomes more accessible by our youngest learners, we are preparing them for how to appropriately communicate with others when using computers, websites, web enabled games, and phone communications including texting.
