Principal's Message

Greetings Shaull Families,

This week our 4th grade students had an amazing day at the Pennsylvania State Capitol and State Museum. They learned about the history of Pennsylvania, how our government works, and even entered the senate chambers. Thank you to our amazing 4th grade team and gracious parent chaperones for volunteering their time to make this trip a great success!

Little Eagles Track & Field

We are excited to introduce the Little Eagles Track & Field Club, a Cumberland Valley High School student-led initiative designed for students in grades K-6 to learn the fundamentals of track and field in a fun and supportive environment!

As high schoolers in the Cumberland Valley School District, we started this club because we didn’t have the opportunity to participate in a free program like this when we were younger. We’re passionate about creating a space where kids can be active, build confidence, and develop a love for track & field—without any cost barriers.

Our club will meet every Monday from April 7th to May 26th at Chapman Field (6746 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA) from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM. High school volunteers will lead and encourage the kids as they learn new skills in a fun, team-oriented atmosphere.

Parents may sign up through our Google Form linked on our website: https://sites.google.com/view/cv-little-eagles-track-field/home

Scholastic Book Fair - Coming Soon!

We are excited to invite you to our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair, hosted by our librarian Mrs. Jones and the CV Elementary Library Department. This event is an opportunity for students of all ages to build their home libraries and further their love of reading. All purchases will benefit our school library here at Shaull.

The book fair will take place from April 22 through April 29 at Shaull Elementary. Students will be given the opportunity to purchase books during their regularly scheduled library special class.

Evening shopping will also be available during our Shaull Art Show on Thursday, April 24th from 5:30-7:30 PM.

This is a cashless Book Fair. Our Book Fair will offer eWallet, a safe and secure alternative to cash. All students who wish to shop will need an eWallet if they are shopping at the Book Fair during the school day. Credit cards will be accepted at our Book Fair night during the Shaull Art Show on the evening of April 24th.

Visit the Scholastic Book Fair homepage to learn more and get started with eWallet or shop online:

Our PTO works diligently to plan and host wonderful experiences for our students and families.

In order for our PTO to be successful for current and future generations of Shaull students and teachers, we need participation by our parents. Please reach out to me or the PTO at shpto@cvschools.org, or rtysarczyk@cvschools.org for information on how to attend a Zoom PTO meeting or how to get involved in our events. Our PTO meetings are one Wednesday each month and generally are 30-45 minutes in length.

Portrait of an Eagle

Fly Like an Eagle!

Cumberland Valley School District's Portrait of an Eagle is our vision for all students upon graduation. Through the immersive Kindergarten through twelfth grade experience here at CVSD, our students will be able to demonstrate these seven competencies for success in adult life.

We will reward students each month with the CVSD Portrait of an Eagle Award Certificate. Be on the look out should your student come home with an award!

Additionally, students will be awarded the "High Fly"er" tickets on an ongoing basis to be entered in for regular prize drawings. Students may earn lunch with the principal, a game in the lobby "Sharkade," or prizes from the Principal Prize Bin.
